Masters of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Science

Leith Stewart is an Occupational Therapist with over two decades of experience working with children with diverse and individual needs. She works across Brisbane and the Gold Coast and has previously practised in Newcastle, the UK and Hong Kong across community, hospital and private practice settings, providing her with a broad, global understanding of children and families.

More recently, Leith has been working in advanced clinical roles within Queensland Health’s Child Development Service, alongside her work in private practice and as a university teaching associate, further strengthening her clinical leadership, supervision, and assessment expertise.

Leith has a particular interest in working with children aged 2–12 years presenting with developmental delay, Autism, ADHD, motor planning difficulties (Developmental Coordination Disorder), Sensory Processing Disorder, and play and attachment challenges. She is especially passionate about supporting Autistic girls to develop confidence, as well as their motor and social skills.

Leith works collaboratively with paediatricians, multidisciplinary teams, parents, caregivers and teachers to support comprehensive assessment, helping families understand their child’s strengths and needs, while developing practical, individualised therapy plans that extend beyond the therapy room and into everyday environments.

Leith has additional training and experience in:

  • Autism and Diagnostic Observation Scale-2 (ADOS) assessments

  • Sensory Processing Disorder (SIPT trained)

  • DIR Floortime

  • SOS Feeding Therapy

  • Integrated Listening System (iLs)

  • Advanced Certificate in Child and Adolescent Nutrition

  • Neurobiology, Vestibular and Visual Systems

  • Psychosocial Trauma and Play Therapy

Outside of work, Leith enjoys spending time at the beach, reading, listening to podcasts, playing netball or tennis, and supporting her daughter from the sidelines at football and netball games. She also appreciates a bit of online shopping.

Leith’s working days are Monday and Wednesdays.
