Dr Amol Moray is a paediatric and fetal cardiologist with expertise in the holistic cardiac care of children and unborn babies with heart problems. At Queensland Paediatric Specialists, Dr Moray compassionately cares for children of all ages, from newborn babies right through till late adolescence. He finds it a privilege to support families in understanding and managing the cardiac conditions that babies and children can experience, and works closely with their GP and paediatrician to ensure a robust network of support. A review with Dr Moray includes echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart), which he performs himself, ECG and a consultation. More advanced services of holter monitoring, event monitoring and exercise stress testing are also used in the management of some children based on their symptoms.
Dr Moray has extensive experience in the medical care of fragile newborns and infants with critical heart disease. He has significant experience in the cardiac care of extremely premature babies in the neonatal nursery and with their ongoing issues with high lung blood pressure (pulmonary hypertension) later on. A major scope of Dr Moray’s practice involves congenital and acquired heart problems, as well as heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias).
Dr Moray has special interests and advanced training in the field of paediatric echocardiography, cardiac MRI and fetal cardiology. He completed his advanced cardiology training from major paediatric cardiac centres in Brisbane, Sydney, and in Canada. He undertook a part of his advanced training at Narayana Health, India, a centre considered to be amongst the busiest paediatric cardiac centres in the world. He has recently returned to Australia after completing sub-speciality fellowships in Canada. In Brisbane, Dr Moray trained at the Mater children’s hospital and the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital (renamed Queensland Children’s Hospital), where he also worked as a staff specialist before moving to Canada for further sub-speciality training. He undertook general paediatric training in Sydney and India.
Dr Moray will be seeing his paediatric patients from Queensland Paediatric Specialist rooms at Southport . He will be offering fetal cardiology consultations from his private rooms (Queensland Paediatric and Fetal Cardiology) in Spring Hill, Brisbane.
