General Paediatrics
Compassionate & Caring Paediatricians
Our general paediatricians provide expert diagnosis and management for infants, children and adolescents (0-18 years old), ranging from simple to complex medical issues as well as acute or chronic illnesses.
General paediatricians provide leadership and advocate for the child as they work closely with families, general practitioners, other specialists, allied health teams, and schools or child care centres. They have the experience and knowledge to provide high quality care when the condition is complex, the causes of the problems are unclear, and/or the involvement of many groups of experts is required.
For those requiring multidisciplinary or subspecialty care, our general paediatricians provide comprehensive coordination of services.

Rapid Access Clinic
We understand that there are occasions when an urgent appointment with a paediatric doctor is required, but it may not be necessary to attend the Emergency Department. The Rapid Access Clinic offers fast and accessible appointments with a paediatrician for non-critical issues. The Rapid Review Clinic is for children with a stable acute medical issue and aims to provide specialist review within 72 hours to 7 days of referral.
The Rapid Review Clinic is only available to patients who have attended their general practitioner or midwife for poor weight gain. If you think your child might be suitable for the Rapid Access Clinic, your general practitioner will need to send a referral before confirmation of appointment details. This will ensure that Medicare will provide a rebate for the cost of the appointment.
If you think that your child requires immediate attention, then you should present to your closest Emergency Department or dial 000
We reserve a number of appointments for Rapid Access only. In addition, our Paediatricians may offer Telehealth consultations which provides the flexibility to add in extra appointments at short notice, where possible. Referrals will be triaged, and those that meet the criteria for Rapid Access will be offered an appointment within a short time frame.
The types of illnesses seen at the Rapid Access Clinic include:
Bronchiolitis
Asthma

Seizures
Poor weight gain in young infant (failure to thrive)
